The PostSeason Team Match Play Tournament

The PostSeason Team Match Play Tournament is a 5 week Tournament that combines Team Aggregate Net Strokes with a Single Elimination Team Match Play component to determine the Tournament Winner.

Reminder: Everyone participates in the First Three (3) Stroke Play Rounds of the Post Season Team Match Play Tournment. Those three weeks overlap with the three Playoff rounds.

Tournament Rules

Dates

Aggregate First Round: August 12

Aggregate Second Round: August 19

Aggregate Third Round: August 26

Semi-Finals: September 2

Finals: September 9

Tournament Format

First Three Rounds, Team Aggregate Stroke Play: Each Team Player plays their own ball from Tee to Green. Each player records their own gross score. The Team's Net Score will be the total of each player's Net Score (Gross Score minus Course Handicap). The teams with the 4 lowest total Team Net Scores after Round 3 will advance to the Team Match Play Tournament Single Elimination Bracket.

Team Better Ball Match Play with Handicaps: Each Team Player plays their own ball from Tee to Green. The lower net score between the team's players becomes the Team Score for the hole. The Team with the lowest net score wins the hole. The team that wins the most holes wins the match.

Team Better Ball Scoring: Each Team only needs to record their individual Team Score for the hole on the scorecard. You do not record all players' scores on the scorecard, just the low net score for your team.

Team Handicap Methodology

Each Player will play using their published League Handicap. For players with a handicap of 9 or under, you will subtract 1 stroke from your gross score on the holes with a handicap less than or equal to your handicap. For example, if you have a 7 handicap, you will subtract 1 stroke on each hole that has a handicap of 1,2,3,4,5,6, and 7. For players with a handicap of 10 or higher, you will subtract 1 stroke from your gross score on every hole and then another 1 stroke on the holes with a handicap less than or equal to your handicap minus 9. For example, if you have a 12 handicap, you will subtract 1 stroke on each hole plus another 1 stroke on handicap holes 1,2, and 3.

Mulligans

No mulligans are allowed by any player at any time.

Tiebreakers

Matches that end on a tie (All Square through 9 Holes) should try to play extra holes in sudden death format until a winner is determined. If that is not possible, then the team winning the first won hole will win the match.

Teams with the same aggregate score will have their aggregate ties broken per the following procedure. Round 1 scores will be compared to each other, lower score wins. If both teams have the same Round 1 Score, then Round 2 Scores will be compared, and Round 3 if necessary.

Substitutes

Only substitutes with an established Mangar Golf League or USGA documented Handicap are allowed to participate in the tournament, and must be announced in accordance with established League rules. Teams that participate with a sub are eligible for all prizes.
